Archnet is a downloads page for two Windows apps. It keeps things simple: no cookies, no accounts, no advertising and no behavioural tracking. The only outside service is a cookie-free page-view counter.

1. Who is responsible for this site
The data controller for this website is [YOUR NAME OR COMPANY], of [POSTAL ADDRESS]. You can reach us at [PRIVACY EMAIL] with any question about this notice or your data.
This notice is written to meet the transparency requirements of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. It covers this website only — not the applications you may download from it.
2. What this website does
The site publishes two Windows installers — Archnet Sky Map and Archnet Weather — and lets you download them. There are no accounts, no contact forms, no comment sections, no newsletters and no user-generated content.
3. Information we collect
We do not ask you for any personal details. There are no accounts, forms, comments or newsletters, no advertising, and no analytics or profiling. The page stores nothing in your browser (no cookies, local storage or session storage) and does not fingerprint your device.
The one exception is the page-view counter in the footer. Each visit makes a single request to Abacus (abacus.jasoncameron.dev), which returns a running total. That request necessarily carries your IP address, browser user agent and the time of the request. Abacus sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and we only ever see the aggregate number — we cannot identify individual visitors or follow anyone across sites.
Like any website, the server that hosts these files may record standard request data in its logs — such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page or file requested, the referring page and the time of the request. This is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure and diagnose faults. The hosting provider is [HOSTING PROVIDER], which processes this data on our behalf, and logs are kept for [RETENTION PERIOD].
5. Third-party services
There is exactly one: the page-view counter provided by Abacus. When the page loads, your browser asks Abacus to add one to a counter and returns the total, which is displayed in the footer. The request carries your IP address, browser user agent and timestamp; no cookies are set, no referrer is sent and the result is an aggregate number only.
We rely on legitimate interests for this: keeping a rough, aggregate measure of how many people visit the page, without identifying anyone. If you would rather not make that request, any content blocker or privacy extension that blocks third-party requests will stop it — the counter simply stays hidden and the site works normally.
Nothing else is loaded from another domain: the fonts are served from this site, and there are no embedded videos, maps, social widgets, pixels or advertising scripts.
6. Downloads and the applications
Choosing a download simply requests the installer file from this site. No account, email address or other detail is required, and we do not track who downloads what.
The installers are separate desktop programs. Once installed, they run on your own computer and any data they handle is governed by their own documentation — [ADD A LINK TO THE APPS’ PRIVACY NOTICE, OR STATE THAT THEY DO NOT TRANSMIT DATA]. This notice does not cover them.
7. Your rights
Where personal data about you is processed (for example, in hosting logs), you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the data held about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask for data to be deleted;
- ask for processing to be restricted, or object to it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- complain to a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); elsewhere in Europe, your national data protection authority.
To make a request, email [PRIVACY EMAIL]. We will respond within one month.
8. Security
This site is static and keeps no personal data of its own. It should always be accessed over a secure (HTTPS) connection — check for the padlock in your browser’s address bar before downloading an installer.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
10. Changes to this notice
If anything about the site changes — for example, if analytics are added — this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Material changes affecting your rights will be made clear on this page.
11. Contact
